Mark Tortorici
Recruitment Training Manager
 |
Mark started with Duran HCP in 1997. He
got his start in mathematics, technology and teaching at an early
age. He focused heavily on subjects such as engineering and calculus
in school and also studied music. While in school, Mark began tutoring
students in mathematics and enjoyed explaining difficult concepts
to classmates. It was here that his interest in teaching began.
After realizing that a career in engineering was not for him, Mark
decided to pursue music. It was at this time that he also started
working at Duran Human Capital Partners as the IT Manager. His primary
responsibility was to provide support for the growing number of
in-house and on-site contract recruiters. He also focused on turning
emerging search technologies into sourcing tools for the recruiters.
Soon, all Duran HCP employees were trained in internet sourcing.
Along with James Duran, Mark took these search techniques and molded
them into a training program known as Duran's Internet Recruiting
Class. Since then, the course material has been taught to hundreds
of sourcers and recruiters across the country. |
Duran HCP has placed many contract recruiters specializing in high-technology
industries in companies throughout the Bay Area. A second training program
was later developed for employees who were new to the world of staffing
to give them a broader understanding of high-tech recruiting. The course
focused on staffing functions/lifecycle, advanced internet search, and
high technology concepts.
To gain a further understanding of the recruiting process, Mark contracted
as a sourcer and recruiter at various start-ups. All of the experience
he gained was integrated into Duran HCP's Sourcer Training Program, which
successfully places sourcers in high-tech companies such as Google, Yahoo,
and Ebay.
| Duran HCP's training has been sought after by many
staffing professionals and company HR departments. Mark brought
his training expertise to Google, where he taught hundreds of sourcers and recruiters onsite throughout the company's staffing organization. The training consisted of all the latest advanced internet sourcing methods, technology concepts & terms for different industries, and the entire staffing/recruiting process. Currently at Duran HCP, Mark heads up all aspects of training for
sourcers and recruiters. This includes staying on top of what's
happening in the industry, in addition to constantly refining the
course material. He is also responsible for staffing special projects
and job requisition analysis. |

Mark enjoys playing music (piano, bass, singing, guitar and a little drums), as well as listening to music. If he's not doing that then you can find him enjoying fantasy/sci-fi movies,
surreal art, or playing Guitar Hero.
